“After 30 years of using gouache paint for my paintings, I recently had the opportunity to take some time off so that I could experiment with acrylics in readiness for a series of pieces of work I need to create for a big exhibition planned for next year.
I have always wanted to do much larger paintings than my normal A3 but my work timetable hasn't given me the space to take time out to try a new technique before. Thanks to the generosity of David Riche of Fairies World I have been given that space and time to play with new ideas at his home in Northampton.
Acrylics will give me the chance to explore the changes I have been experiencing this year and will hopefully this will herald an exciting new period of art in my life.
I aim to create a slide show of each new piece as it progresses plus add some explanatory text and some short movie clips as well.
I shall be creating regular updates and will promote them on my Facebook and Twitter pages.
